Located in the Mississippi Delta, our neighbors in Quitman County face a unique set of challenges:

OUR VISION

With the help of our donors, we have purchased an 8000 square foot building in downtown Marks, MS which will be the future home of our care center. The care center will provide rent-free housing for eight teachers, lodging for volunteer teams, and will be a place of ministry, mentoring, and tutoring.

THE CARE CENTER WILL OFFER:

  • Tutoring: We are committed to reducing the education gap between students in the Quitman County school district. This will launch August 2018 and will be led by our teachers.

  • Summer programming: Academically, students regress over the summer due to a lack of necessary engagement. We want to eliminate that regression while meeting spiritual needs of students through summer programming.

  • A place to build relationships: We seek to build relationships with students that allow us to speak into their lives both at school and in our programs. The care center will allow us opportunities to be very strategic with this process.
  • ACADEMIC SUPPORT
  • COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
  • EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

    ACADEMIC SUPPORT

Quitman County Schools ranked second to last in state testing for the 2016 academic year. We have partnered with the local school system to recruit new teachers to serve the Quitman County School District. We are blessed to have a team of young minds who have a passion to engage, empower, equip, and inspire students to achieve greatness.

If you are interested in partnering with Reclaimed as a teacher in Quitman Count, fill out our teacher interest form below.

"Marks is special because of the people that live there...I love working for their trust and being a part of their community because we are striving for generational and eternal change"

"Words cannot describe how much beauty, richness, and complexity Quitman County truly has. I have not yet been here for long, yet this place already has a piece of my heart. I deeply look forward to this journey God has set before me. I know that the closer I follow after God's heart, the more powerful and meaningful this journey will be."

"The Mississippi delta captivated me the moment I entered it almost two years ago. The only way I can describe the affinity I have for the people, the culture, and the land itself is God’s mandated will."

"I grew up in the Mississippi Delta and it is home for me. Jesus is doing in something special in Marks, and I'm excited and honored to get to be a part of it as a teacher.”
